Yesterday I read an article about a “weird lawsuit” in Holland.
My guess; this lawsuit does involve an old judge who did not hear about internet yet…. and is probably doing all his writing or by pen or with a typewriter…..

First I will tell you something which can happen to every blog and website owner….
You are writing an article about Mr. Obama…… and you will also say something about his opinion about gay marriage….
So; you will have the following sentences; “the new President of the USA Mr. Obama is happily married to his wife”…….and…… “Everybody has his own choice; if somebody is gay – he or she should also have the right to get married”….

Well; you wrote this nice article…..BUT all of a sudden you are getting a lawsuit – because you are calling the President of the USA GAY !! (okay; I do not think this is worth a lawsuit – BUT this is just hypothetical).

What happened..??
Mr.Obama has been surfing on the internet… and wanted to know what people are writing about him and gay marriage…

And all of a sudden he is reading he is gay….

What is the case in Holland and the lawsuit…?
Well; a website had an article about a certain company (we will call them Zwartepoorte) AND about bankruptcy….

Mr.Zwartepoorte is Googling and sees in the results such a combination of the name Zwartepoorte AND bankruptcy as it seems that Zwartepoorte is bankrupted….!!
As you know; Google is indexing articles and sometimes put lines within the article behind each other…
For example  “President of the USA Mr.Obama…is gay”
In this case Zwartepoorte started a lawsuit against this website; the website is responsible for this “false message on Google”……

And I am not kidding; the Judge in this case did decide that the website owner is responsible for the indexing of Google….!! He should change his website in such a way that the indexing would not make this “mistake” anymore…

So – be careful with your writing (if you are Dutch)….. you are responsible for the acts of Google…!!
(if your case gets to this 112 year old Judge….!! )

Needless to say that I find this one ridiculous… time to replace that old fart !!
(and if he is a young one; time to give him the “Internet for Dummies” book !
