Sjeltur back in town; weird Dutch internet issues
Yep – I am back in the real (crazy) world…..!!
As you can imagine –> I had a great time in the USA and Canada…!!
I had a lot of “wow momentsâ€â€¦â€¦. and then people are asking me about my biggest “wow momentâ€â€¦.
Wow – that is a hard question to answer…..
Besides the last week (which was a rather “personal weekâ€â€¦); probably my stay in New York….. and especially the walk through the Soho part of the town AND the pizza…. 
Back to reality !
Some little “news moments†of yesterday and today……….;
- probably Holland is not any different from other countries…. we have those little commissions who like to advice the Government in “making decisionsâ€â€¦. Commission Brinkman is now suggestion to make ALL internet owners, within Holland, pay a few euros per year to “stimulate new initiatives of the pressâ€â€¦..
=> with other words; we need to pay a few euros per year because the writing press (the real written newspapers/magazines etc) are not making enough money…. and they need new changes to survive…my reaction..??
what the f*ck…??
The main problem with that writing press; they are still living in the “early daysâ€â€¦ – they overlooked something called “internetâ€â€¦.. – they didn’t make the correct adjustments within their companies…. and now all of a sudden they need help from the Government……
Heeeeeey; doesn’t is all sound familiar to you…?? Doesn’t it sound like the old dinosaur “music industry†and his sister “movie industryâ€â€¦??“a few euros – so the people of Holland do realize the news is not coming freelyâ€
Mmmmh – any “free online newspaper†is covered with hundreds of ads……
So Mr.Brinkman; I am willing to agree with the couple of euros a year…. – but only if you can promise me that I will not see ANY ADS during my stay on the “Dutch internetâ€â€¦..!Agree…??
- The Dutch copyright watchdog “Brein†is bringing “Pirate Bay†to the Dutch court and want the “Pirate Bay†to be banned from the Dutch internet…..
Sure; that is what is internet is about => to BAN stuff….. Isn’t also time to ban all websites with nude pictures..?? Isn’t it time to ban websites which are not agreeing with our Government…?? Isn’t it time to ban “people who think differentâ€â€¦??
Isn’t it time to band “Breinâ€â€¦.?

Sjeltur, welcome back to the real life. I hope you’ve enjoyed your trip to USA and Canada.
As for the reality, it seems like everyone has his/her own “back to reality” because people are the same everywhere regardless the society. Hereby I’ve to admit that I seen in my country many debates regarding the paper-vs-electronic newspapers.
I liked what you said about the “banning thing”; banning “people who think different”! Oh! people need a serious wake-up call to understand how to accept other different opinions!

And yep – although you should think that a medium like internet is making the world bigger and more accessible for people…. to me it seems that people are getting more and more narrow minded……
One of my sites already has a ban with one of the dutch newspapers…. but I will keep blogging…
I am not surprised that some are “charging” bloggers in order to save newspapers. It is such a dichotomy. Newspapers have become antiquated given the instant access era in which we live. There is no way they could keep pace with the Internet. If that happened here in the States, there would be a laugh riot a a few ’so long, see ya later’ songs, but no contributions. What a world!
