It’s so funny – that even people who should not have an opinion – do open their mouth = and tell the world what they think….
Okay – maybe this time NME did something wrong; they did ask this person for an opinion…..
Noeh Gallagher of the band (hahahaha band… hahahaha) Oasis was asked about his view on the recent knife crimes in London;
“People say it’s through violent video games and I guess that’s got something to do with it”, he suggested. “If kids are sitting up all night smoking super skunk and they become so desensitised to crime because they’re playing these video games, it’s really, really scary.”
Good thing he didn’t play (violent) videogames – with all the drugs he used – he would have killed the whole city of London……
Sadly I don’t have a category “Nonsense News” – this one would have been the headliner……

Of course there will be violent people who are also using drugs *and* play video games. And of course there are people who are violent but never use drugs or play video games…
Maybe there is a correlation between drug use, video games and violence, but it doesn’t mean the first two are the cause of the third. In those cases where people are compulsive players, drug users and violent, these three might be all the effect of an underlying cause.
Maybe the fact that someone is compulsive is doing the trick….
Probably in a substantial number of cases, yes.
But I mean those cases where the three come together, thinking of Britain you can think easily of unemployment, poverty, boredom and losing sense of purpose. Some people will be vulnerable to commit violence under those circumstances after they used playing video games and using drugs as a reaction, but I don’t see how playing video games or drug use can be really considered as a cause. It seems just to be another symptom of the same disease, so to speak.
Guys who walk on the streets during the evening/night – stabbing other people….. Seems to me that those are NOT the gamers…. otherwise they would be behind their game-console and stabbing aliens….
