Made my Xbox a full mediacenter…. TVersity

Trying to step a bit into the “world of software”….. hahaha

Nah – that is not totally my thing…. but as before with Scribefire – sometimes you get to see some real nice software = of which “the rest of the world should know”…

One of these kinds is TVersity….
There are all kinds of software with which you can watch your downloaded content on your tv…..
But; I do not have my computer at the same place as my tv – so I need a network kinda solution….
But as a lot of other people; I do have a gamesystem near to my tv (in my case; the xbox 360 = but this will also work with the PS3, other kind of media devices etc);

Tversity

On the xbox360 you are already able to PUT your movie/mp3 etc… but with a 20gb hd – I do think that is “not really the solution”…. Furthermore; not all formats will play….. and no possibility for subtitles.

So; I got TVersity…. very easy to install to your computer…. add folders in which you have your movies… your mp3s…. your pictures…..
I also go the K-Lite codec pack…

Your xbox will be able to find your computer via the network…. AND…. it will play your movie…
With movies; I selected the option of let everything recode via TVersity; this way = if you turn your subtitle option on in your DirectVobSub = it will play the subtitles also (remark; your *.srt file should have EXACTLY the same name as your movie !!).

I also made a seperate folder in which I put my radiostation…..
The link of the radiostation; open that in winamp/windows media player; and save that one as a playlist…. works great.

Only thing problem I got with my Xbox was; I could not view music by artist (to see what songs they have) = there is a fix from TVersity – I don’t know why they didnt add it to their release; you can find it HERE (btw – they do have a huge forum – in which you can find all kinds of help).
