Has been in the news before;

Jonathan  Zdziarski found some kind of little “application”  in the Iphone – which is able to “call home” to the Apple headquarters….. He was kidding about it – and said that maybe it could make a call to a computer to spit out recipes for buttermilk pancakes.

Now it appears that Apple DID make something in the Iphone – which is able to make “that call” – to make some kind of reset or deletion of “unauthorised software”…..

From the Wall Street Journal;

Mr. Jobs confirmed such a capability exists, but argued that Apple needs it in case it inadvertently allows a malicious program — one that stole users’ personal data, for example — to be distributed to iPhones through the App Store. “Hopefully we never have to pull that lever, but we would be irresponsible not to have a lever like that to pull,” he says.

And I know – it all sounds very scary…..
but uh…. is Microsoft not doing the same with the Xbox…???
Any kind of mod – and you are not allowed on Live online gaming….
The WII is doing it… The PS3 is doing it…..
Uh…. Microsoft Windows is doing it……

In all honesty; I DO understand this kind of protective behaviour of Apple. Sony, Microsoft, etc etc…
On the other hand; it is SCARY !!!

Maybe Apple is also able to tell who I am calling..??
How much I am calling…?
Uh…. what I am saying during a call..??
