Internet behind the Chinese (fire)wall….
>from Telegraaf.nl

Sometimes you just have those little nonsense plug ins….. well – I found one…..
A plug-in for Firefox – which will give you an IP address in China…..Â
FUN FUN…. but uh….. what does it do…??? Not a lot; gives you slow internet – that is for sure….. Oh……and you are not able to reach some “forbidden websites”….. Well; I had fun for 2 minutes…. maybe you can get more out of it…???
(btw – I found 2 forbidden sites; try www.internetfreedom.org and http://www.minghui.org/)
Get the plug-in – install – and “select China Channel” Â press “Go” Â and get a Chinese IP address – and then try the extreme exiting websites…. = pls note – the internet is slower !! And when you leave the channel on; you will also not be able to reach other websites for a little while – took me about 2 minutes to get back on track… OR turn the channel off……
who was or were the creator of this?
I wouldn’t care to try it though
Here a website you can test the Chinese firewall without a plug in. It only shows you if you get traffic back from China or not. But it’s still interesting, the firewall doesn’t block “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page”, for example, but the Chinese censors don’t like “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falun_gong”…
This plug in is made by “China Channel” – if you go to the link = it will NOT install automatically the plug in – it will first give you all kinds of information. And this is why they do this
“Our intention with the China Channel add-on was simply to help lower the technical barrier to surfing the Chinese internet. There are several projects done previously that have done a great deal in relation to internet filtering or the Chinese Firewall issue”
