Eluana Englaro; the final (unlawful) decision made
But this “game†the Italian Government AND the Catholic Church had around the life of Eluana Englaro made death worse than ever.
What is this case..??
Eluana had a conversation with her dad about 16 years ago. Just “a casual†talk – in which she did mention that in case anything would happen to her; she never wanted to suffer and never wanted to be in a vegetative state….
Unlucky enough; she got into an accident…. and she have had this vegetative life for 15 years….
Her dad has been trying to get help with euthanasia – which is forbidden in Italy.
All kinds of lawsuits etc etc….
But the Roman Catholic Church got also involved…. and as you can guess; they “dictated the Italian Politiciansâ€â€¦.
I know – a very sensitive subject…!!
But; I had to deal with such a decision in the past…… and now (in my anger) am I wondering; who is the Church to decide about this…. who is the Church to make – after her death – to make low comments about her dad…??
Hypocrite – that is the only word I can come up with….
Her das has been suffering for the last 15 year and this week is going to be one of his worst ever…. and then you just kick that man…?? The man who followed the wishes of his daughter…!!
It is time that Italy says goodbye to those little dictators…. and reconsider their laws which have been dictated by the Vatican for ages….
A law for euthanasia should be taken in consideration WITHOUT looking to any Church.
Such a law should follow the wishes and the needs of all people. And surely; a law is very hard – as some will say “no†to this… but is their “no†a reason/excuse to make someone else suffer..??
A self-regulating law. But how..?? I don’t know – I don’t make the laws…..

There should be one simple law: the individual is the only one that can decide about his or her life, and to decide when the time has come to end it with dignity, if needed.
No government, no church has a right to make this decision for you. Unfortunately, in many countries the dictatorship of the majority (aka democracy) decides for you…
Seems like we are on the same level with this one…
Yep, sometimes we’re not, but with this subject we are.
