Elections in the EU: don’t go
Most countries do it on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but in The Netherlands and the UK the elections for the European Parliament are today. No, I’m not voting, despite the propaganda produced by the Dutch government and the EU that I should vote. The website of the European Parliament has the audacity to state that “if you don’t vote, don’t complain”…
Newsflash for these people of the European Parliament that soak up billions and billions of euros every year, extorted from the European taxpayers, I was very motivated to vote against the European “constitution” back in 2005. In that vote 61.6% of the Dutch voters rejected the European “constitution”, but those who are really in power decided we should get that “constitution” anyways, ignoring the vote entirely. So they changed a few words here and there, renamed it as the “Lisbon Treaty” and shoved it down the throats of the people who clearly said “no”… I voted back then, but it turns out there’s no point of complaining. Despite the crystal clear result of that vote, it was completely powerless. Those who are really in power can’t be touched by any vote, voting for the EU is nothing more than a sad joke. You really shouldn’t be part of it, because the joke is entirely at your expense.
These people from the European Parliament want to make you believe that you can’t complain if you’re not voting, but they don’t tell you that such a vote is always a vote for the EU-system itself, no matter what party you vote. The EU-system is way too expensive, way too big, and way too dangerous. The impact of the EU on the lives of Europeans is already questionable, but the EU is far from done. It wants to expand its power, forming a centralized superstate. Given our experiences with superstates in Europe, this can only go very wrong.
To prevent that the EU will be a perfect launchpad for future despots we need to tear down the EU, first get rid of the countries that became a member in recent years, then see how many and what countries can form an organization only for economic cooperation, and nothing more, just like the founders of the ECSC, a precursor of the EU, had in mind.
So, if you are a potential voter for the European Parliament, don’t go today or later this week. Your children and grandchildren will thank you for it in the future, even when it turns out that it was not enough to stop the EU, at least you can look straight into their eyes and say “I didn’t vote for it”.
I SOOOO agree with you…..!!
And scary part is; I clearly wasn’t able to vote……but with PVV as the “big political party” -it seems that the Dutch are getting more and more stupid/dumb/ignorant….”
From my balcony in the “outer banks” of the USA I would almost say; time to leave Holland….

The good news is that there was a record low turnout, just over 43% of the voters showed up. Support for the EU is declining.
