Chrome; ….and…??
Well; big news in internet country uh…?? Google who is announcing their own browser….. “Chrome” and of course – Sjeltur needed to play with it….
Downloading….uh…. well… almost forgot how to get there – but heeey I do have the link !!
I have to say; extremely easy to install.
BUT; I will start right away with a HUGE remark….
It told me that I needed to close my Firefox – so it could import all the password – history – bookmarks/favorites etc….
A little wait while the screen is a bit unclear – but I think it is trying to tell me that I should wait while it is getting all his info from my Firefox. Bu then; NOTHING IN MY BOOKMARKS… EMPTY…..
Did another try with importing bookmarks… but nope…. nothing….. Â
So – went to some login pages = but yes – it did import my passwords…… -> that did work…
The looks are smooth – webpages loading is fast (mmmh seems faster than my Firefox)….
Extreme easy settings…..
Wonder why these programs keeps looking to “somewhere on my computer – where my country is mentioned”…….
I am working with an English Windows…. my Firefox is English….. I prefer everything English…. and yep – dumb Chrome started in Dutch…
* settings (little toolthingy – upper right)
* options
* minor tweaks
* change font and language settings
* languages
and pick your choices…..
But okay – I will keep using it a bit – seems nicely fast….simple and it does his job….
Mmmmh – and the simple part is going to be the part I do not like; I need those little changes – little tweaks – little add on – little themes….. – but knowing Google AND the fact that this is only beta = I think a lot of ad ons…etc will show up….. = like a nice gmail operations center…. or blogtweaks etc etc….

Haven’t tried it yet, but sounds pretty positive overall. I’ll give it a try when they release their next version… lol
I love it. Needs addons however. it rocks compared to firefox: http://blog.gadodia.net/google-chrome-vs-mozilla-firefox/
That’s a good comparison between the two, thanks. Maybe I should try this version already…
Yep – did like the comparison…..
but I would first like my bookmarks to be working…..
So – I will be waiting for the update…
“We are so, so happy with Google Chrome,” mumbled Mozilla CEO John Lilly through gritted teeth. “That most of our income is from Google has no bearing on me making this statement.” http://notnews.today.com/?p=57
