Batman; the Dark Night – makes Holland more patronizing

>from Telegraaf.nl

Okay – in all honesty = I was not a real big fan of the “comic hero movies”…. they didn’t really do it for me….
Than I saw “Batman returns”….. and that was a “WOW” moment for me…..

Couple of weeks ago I watched it again…… as a “pre-show”  for the DARK NIGHT.

the Dark Night

So – what is the news about it…??
Well; all countries of the world have their rating system; which allows people from a certain age to go to a movie…..
For example – the rating age for the Dark Night is;

USA – 13 years

England – 12 years

Norway – 15 years

Korea – 15 years

And here it comes; Holland = 16 years…….

Okay – to make my own FAIR opinion = I need to see the movie first….. but uh…….
16 years…???

Again; I am really wondering where this country is going…. – the patronizing did start a while ago….. and gets more and more intensive…..

16 years in Holland; are allowed to drink beer….. allowed to have sex…… but (by LAW) not allowed to watch The Dark Night….. Glad I am older…….

  1. And the thing is that the rating of 16 years id the only one that has meaning in Dutch law. The owner of a movie theatre is punishable by law if he lets someone in that is not 16 years old yet.

Yes, the government is looking after us, it’s great to live in NeDDRland, part of the EUSSR!

  2. I totally agree with that. where do we go?

    I am 13, and I can’t see it because it is 16+
I mean, what’s the big deal? All the Batman movies are for 12+, and some for 6+, but the one that I wanna see the most is 16+.
Now I gotta wait for another year or something, before it comes on dvd.

Is there really that much violence in it or what?
