Bad bad Blogger from Malaysia

Seems to be a nice game for the Malaysian Government; arresting bloggers….
As you probably already know; I am a big pro-freedom on the internet…. At this moment I can not come up with stuff I want to be banned on the internet…. although some articles could be racist – reflect hatred – give information which could be totally not true….
Just a couple of seconds of thinking – I can only come up with banning child porn……
But arresting bloggers because they say what they think – because they critisize “the system”…… because they reflect peoples views and feeling = that is totally WRONG…. (even if they tell lies)….
What else can I say…??
Happy I live in Holland…???
Dunno – our Government also seems to be “in control horny” = I am wondering how much longer I will have this freedom…..

Yes, the government here is way too horny to “regulate” the internet. The time is coming you have to be careful what to publish. You already can get in trouble by publishing cartoons, or if you want to put a little movie on the internet… Before you know it you find yourself at the policestation answering questions, or political pressure by the highest levels in government is applied to make you stop publishing… This already happened, and it’s probably getting worse over time. There is definitely a shift visible in western countries towards authoritarianism. The next step is a totalitarian system, although the people in many western countries experienced some decades ago what it is like to live under such a system, the memory of this is fading. Slowly but surely certain elements of it are creeping into our society.
Yes, I agree with you.
We should have our human rights…
And we should have our freedom of speech.
Living in a country with no freedom of speech is really frustrating cos you’ll feel like a robot following everything the government said.
It should not and nver should be wrong to say or express our feelings about anything…
